Village Welcome, friends! The final stop of our 2026 FindUsCamping Midwest RV Crawl was one of the newest RV resorts in Indiana: North Trace RV Resort in Syracuse, Indiana (not New York!). It’s in a cute little lake town, and we got the full tour.
This one is personal for us. We’re friends with the owners, Steve and Janelle, and we’ve watched this place grow from plans on paper and a cornfield into a beautiful resort.
Check-In Made Easy for Big Rigs
There are three staging lanes at the entrance. We rolled in with six RVs, all over 40 feet, and everyone had room to pull in and check in without blocking the road. If you’ve ever traveled with a group, you know how rare that is.
The Welcome Center and Event Center
- Welcome Center with a good-size camp store and a cozy fireplace to hang out by.
- Event Center with heat and air, a stage, a full kitchen for caterers, and bathrooms. A big bay door even lets you bring an RV or food truck inside. For rallies and group events like ours, this is a dream.
- After-hours cubbies where late arrivals pick up their packets and packages get held for you.
North Trace RV Resort Amenities
- Fitness center (open with your key card even after hours)
- Pickleball and basketball courts
- Community fire pit
- Laundry with new, clean machines, plus clean bathhouses
- Self-serve firewood
- Golf cart rentals
- Playgrounds for little and big kids, a gaga ball pit and a volleyball court
- Gated entry with key cards
Buddy Sites: Perfect for Camping With Friends
This is where North Trace really shines. Their buddy sites put two RVs door-to-door around a shared space with a covered table and chairs, a grill, a fire pit and paver patios you can walk on barefoot.
- Pull-through buddy sites where two rigs pull in from opposite directions to face each other.
- Back-in buddy sites, including ones laid out backwards so a Class A’s door faces the shared area.
Our whole group was in one row together, and we spent hours under that covered table, including an uninterrupted game of Farkle while it rained.
Cabins too
Three fully furnished cabins (linens included) sit right near the RV sites. Perfect if friends or family want to join you but don’t have an RV.
What’s Coming Next
What we toured was phase one. Phase two adds a pool and more RV sites, and phase three is planned after that. We’ll share updates as it grows.
Things to Do Nearby
We took a paddlewheel boat ride on a nearby lake, a slow, relaxing ride that was the perfect way to end an RV Crawl. The area is full of lakes, so bring your kayak or paddleboard.
Our Take on North Trace RV Resort
Lisa said it best: her favorite stop on the whole trip was North Trace. Not because of one big attraction, but because it was so good to see friends’ dream come to life, and everyone in our group loved it.
Planning a group trip or an RV rally? This place was built for it. See what we got up to on the rest of the 2026 Midwest RV Crawl, including our stop at the free Air Force Museum in Dayton.
